Sound Shore Medical Center is gearing up for its 16th annual Toy & Coat Drive. The hospital is seeking new, unwrapped toys for babies and children up to 8 years old. The public can drop off donations in the main lobby of the Joyce Pavilion at 16 Guion Place through Dec. 8
The Toy & Coat Drive was started by Kathy Curto and her husband, Joseph, six years ago, as a way to give back for the care Curto received during a high-risk pregnancy. In its first year, 60 children received donated toys. This year, more than 1,200 children are expected to receive toys and coats.
In addition to coats and toys, canned goods and non-perishable foods are also being provided to 300 families and each child at the annual pediatric outpatient holiday party will get a copy of an “I Spy.”
To contribute, call the hot line at 914-365-4567 or e-mail ssmctoysandcoats@aol.com. Donations are tax deductible and checks should be made payable to SSMC Foundation Toy & Coat Drive and mailed to 16 Guion Place, New Rochelle, NY 10802.
