Group studies alcohol use in Port Chester
The Port Chester Cares Community Coalition has a letter in today’s Journal News about its recent survey about alcohol use. The coalition presented its findings to the village board Oct. 5, and the issue gained further attention this month when the mayor disclosed that he had been arrested for drunken driving in Manhattan in June. Mayor Dennis Pilla, who pleaded guilty to a violation, says he wants to assist public-awareness efforts in Westchester against drunk driving.
Here are two charts from the coalition’s survey.

Another question asked whether students had used alcohol, marijuana or tobacco in the last 30 days.
