I’ve never seen a celebrity go out of his/her way to disassociate connections to Westchester.
Lady Gaga was on The Jay Leno Show this week and Leno asked her what rumor out there bugs her the most.
Apparently it’s the rumor that she’s from Yonkers. She’s from New York City and she goes on to say how much she hates the fact that people think she’s from Yonkers.
I’m sure that’s not going to sit well with some of her local fans.

She’s got no class, no fashion sense and really no talent…do we care if she says she’s from Yonkers or not. I wouldn’t want her to admit she’s from Yonkers either.
She did not say she’s not from Westchester the title is very misleading. She said she’s not from Yonkers and she thinks yonkers is in the Bronx
I lost some respect for her after hearing that but at the same time, I wouldn’t want people going around saying I’m from Tuckahoe when I’m really from Yonkers.
We even put her on our pizza boxes out here. How come she JUST decided to tell us now?
I’m a huge fan and will remain one but its a bit sad she’s acting like Yonkers is the worst place to be from. Back when I was growing up, it wasn’t but now with all these non-natives running the streets, its pretty bad.
Still, I will never be ashamed of my hometown.
Only someone from Yonkers would pronounce “Yonkers” the way she did. Also, only someone from Yonkers would even mention the Bronx if they’re trying to deflect attention away from Yonkers. Even a Manhattanite wouldn’t do that. Her body language says a lot when she denied she was from Yonkers.
Another thing, is being from Yonkers a worse rumor than being a hermaphrodite (one of the rumors about her)?

OK…Lady GaGa you say you’re not from Yonkers. I believe you. You’re not tough enough to be from Yonkers. You’re a little rich girl…not many of those in the Y-O. And you didn’t make it on your own, you had industry hook-ups since you were 13 years old. I actually like your music, but you wouldn’t last a minute on Ashburton, South Broadway, School Street, or New Main. Don’t come to my neighborhood talkin’ that trash. Jasmin- all parts of Yonkers arent that tough as with most local areas in Westchester you have a mix of the good and the bad and there are alot of people who make a decent living in Yonkers so lets not give it a bar rep!!!
