Being Indian, I’m very hard to please when it comes to finding good Indian food. There are a few good places in Westchester, but hands down my favorite place was Samosa Cabana in New Rochelle. Know how Chipotle has large burrito wraps? Well Samosa Cabana takes wraps and puts chicken or lamb biryani rice inside of it. For the past two years of my life, my world has been rocked by this food. My friends and I all live in Manhattan and would often take the drive all the way out there for food.
But now apparently, Samosa Cabana is no more. (Cue Green Day song “Time of Your Life). I tried going there over the weekend and saw a large “closed indefinitely” sign on its window. Now on their official Facebook page I read this:
“Samosa Cabana has indefinitely closed it’s New Rochelle location for takeout business. Catering is still available upon request. Any further updates or plans to re-open will be posted here. Thank you.”
Breakups are difficult. Maybe one day we’ll get to be together again Samosa Cabana, but that’s wishful thinking and its better for me to move on. Samosa Cabana, thanks for the memories, your lamb biryani wraps will always have a special place in my heart.
