Rye’s Jimmy Amico, who recently told The Journal News he wants to meet with Rye students to talk about street safety, will speak tonight at a Bronxville forum on cycling safety.
Amico’s son Jarrid was killed while crossing Rye’s Midland Avenue on his bike in 2006.
The Bike Walk Alliance will meet 7 p.m. at Bronxville Public Library, 201 Pondfield Rd.
The event will feature Amico, a discussion on making Eastchester more cycling friendly, and talk about a Westchester County bike-sharing program.
Members will also discuss the push for Merrill’s Law, a state law that would require cars to give cyclists a 3-foot-buffer when passing.
