“Unofficial Mayor” contest: Question 4

Posted by: Laurel Babcock - Posted in Uncategorized on Mar 04, 2010

People have always complained about a lack of customer service when they go out to do business or run errands. You know, the rude salesclerk, the lost item left for repair, the poor maintenance, or ridiculous prices.

Well, we want to know about the great places in your community that still know the meaning of the “customer is always right,” or at least try to help when you’re wrong!

Whether it’s your local mechanic, dog groomer, spa, dry cleaner or hairdresser, tell us your five favorite business services in your community. Don’t just name them, tell us why in the comments section below.

The response period ends at noon.

If you’re new this contest, hurry here and read the rules and details.

The five best business services in Larchmont:
    1) Tony Mancino at Mancino’s Custom Tailors and Clothiers is hands down the best tailor in town. My fussy husband insists that nobody touch his suits but Tony. Whether it’s getting a suit tailored or having one custom made, you can be assured of a quality product. Tony takes his craft seriously and pays attention to every little detail.
    2) Need a bouquet of flowers? Head over to Larchmont Floral Designs where a warmhearted Liz Alfieri is ready to create a beautiful bouquet for you in minutes. While you’re waiting, say hello to Liz’s dog Brando, a chocolate Labrador. He’s a popular dog in town.
    3) Francine Lucidon from The Voracious Reader bookstore is full of energy and creativity. Her non-stop event calendar keeps local children entertained and encourages them to read. She has a very loyal following of customers.
    4) Pink on Palmer mostly caters to women, but during the holidays, Judy Graham and her staff provide exceptional service to men in search of a gift for the women in their lives. The staff takes a personal interest with the selection and has everything wrapped up and ready to go.
    5) My high-heeled shoes take a pounding on the streets, but Mr. Lee, our local cobbler is always there to fix them. Mr. Lee and his wife are two hard working people who operate out of a tiny storefront on Chatsworth Avenue. They provide quality work on both shoes and handbags.
