Caroline Connolly, 3, of New Rochelle offers a treat to Aidan Galeano, 2, of New Rochelle during the 38th annual Strawberry Festival at the College of New Rochelle earlier today.
The day featured music, entertainment, crafts, games rides, and strawberry treats. The Strawberry Festival, introduced to the College of New Rochelle in 1972, is the single largest event organized entirely by the college’s undergraduates. The concept of the Strawberry Festival originated in the mid-west during the 1890’s as an American festival celebrating the ripening of strawberries, the blooming of lilacs, and the coming of summer.
