Update: Water Works exec wanted to replace harbor commission ex-chair in Mamaroneck

Posted by: Aman Ali - Posted in Environment, Government & Politics, Mamaroneck on May 24, 2010

As you recall, the chair of Mamaroneck’s village Harbor and Coastal Zone Management Commission stepped down last week amidst the ongoing battle between the village and the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club.

On the village’s voting agenda this week is to accept Steven Goldstein’s resignation and replace him with village resident George Belsito.

I had a bit of trouble at first digging up info on Belsito because the village spelled his name wrong on the agenda lol. But he worked most recently as an administrator for Westchester Joint Water Works before retiring this year.

“He knows the entire water system in the village of Mamaroneck and a fresh face and represents an area that you need on a land use board,” village mayor Norm Rosenblum said. “He told me a couple of months ago he wanted to get involved in the village because he was retiring. I told him, ‘That’s good, I’ve got the perfect thing for you.’”
