Harrison Chamber of Commerce revived by former president

Posted by: Theresa Juva - Posted in Harrison on Sep 30, 2010

After resigning in April, Harrison Chamber of Commerce President Ada Angarano has returned to revive the defunct organization.

Angarano was president of the downtown business group for five years before leaving, citing exhaustion and a rift with the town over new commercial garbage pickup fees.

Now she has returned, along with former chamber treasurer, Zack Bsharat. Angarano said she was urged by residents and business owners to take the helm again.

“I never realized that people respected me this much or felt I was that important,” she said.

With the tough economy,  local businesses need a chamber now more than ever, she said.

“I will try to make a difference again,” she said. “I’m a volunteer, the least I can do is help my town regain something.”

Chambers and members can form their communities at nualerts and stay connected with multiple channels (sms, email, etc). A lot of Bay Area Chambers are already using nualerts to offer members incredible marketing exposure. Check out our Chambers http://alturl.com/xve8a
