Jim Russell campaign manager calls for Westchester GOP chair to resign
Frank Morgenthaler claims to be head of a new group called the Concerned Republicans of Westchester and is calling for Westchester GOP chairman Doug Colety to resign.
Morgenthaler, who is also the campaign manager for Republican congressional candidate Jim Russell, held a news conference outside GOP headquarters in White Plains today and was the only one who spoke. He did not know how many members belong to his new organization, which formed this month, he said.
Russell is running against incumbent Democrat Nita Lowey in the 18th Congressional District. While he will appear on the Republican line on the ballot Tuesday, Russell lost party support after a controversial essay he wrote on race and religion came to light last month.
Morgenthaler accused Colety of supporting Lowey by directing 14 Republicans, including eight district leaders, to collect petition signatures for the Independence Party line for Lowey. He provided copies of the notarized petitions with the Republican names.
“Mr. Colety is not a true Republican,” Morgenthaler said. “Mr. Colety needs to leave right now.”
He also criticized Colety for initially supporting Paul Wasserman in the race against Lowey. Wasserman is a former Democrat who recently became a Republican.
Colety was not available for comment at GOP headquarters this afternoon.

Of course Colety should resign. When is it Morally Acceptable for the Chairman of the Westchester County Republican Party to authorize and accept signed petitions for the Party of Opposition under the guise of a Democrat running on the Independence line?
Just another day on the GOP’s Bizzaro World. As Bob Grant put it and after he endorsed Jim Russell for Congress: ” Isn’t it a shame, the republicans have been their own worst enemy as they fought amongst themselves, They would rather destroy a fellow Republican if they lost a primary to him. Ever since George Clark left, the party has just disintegrated.
Frank Morgenthaler has offered no proof of his claim Colety had anything to do with some Republican voters preferring to support an independent candidate rather than white supremacist/anti-Semite Jim Russell.
As Russell’s campaign manager, he should be filing that missing paperwork with the FEC.
Heavens knows I do not agree with the personal views of Jim Russell, but he is only pointing out the obvious about the Westchester GOP. The GOP knew and supported Russell years back so stop thinking we are so dumb. You were aware if this guy, but Colety will let anyone run on the Republican line. He takes democrats and Nazi’s. The group, Concerned Republicans of Westchester County, demanded the immediate Resignation of Douglas A. Colety, the Chairman of the Westchester County Republican Party. Frank Morganthaler, campaign Manager for Jim Russell and also a Private Investigator, cited that Doug Colety had knowledge, and possibly even authorized and directed the solicitation of petition signatures for the Entrenched Ultra Liberal Democrat Nita Lowey, and in order for her to gain the endorsement of Westchester County’s Independence Party.
Copies of the original Nita Lowey signed petitions which incriminated 8 Republican District Leaders from around the County and 6 Republican District Leaders from New Rochelle, had been obtained from the New York State Board of Elections, and were handed over to the press.
When Colety accepted those signed Independence Party petitions for Nita Lowey from his Roque Republi-CRATS, that made him an accessory. And does anyone really believe that the 14 Underminers decided one day, and all by themselves, to go out and solicit signatures for Nita Lowey?
First Colety tried to run Wasserman and that backfired and next Delussy. True Republicans don’t work to help the opposition Party. These backroom deals must cease!
@Matt: Try not to get snookered by the Liberal Kool Aid. Taking a few sentences from a few paragraphs out of context from Jim’s 16 page academic paper written 9 years ago does not present the true light of the overall subject matter.
The points he made are no different from the practices of every other ethnic group in America. Parents do have the responsibility to protect and educate their children about their own ethnic history and cultural heritage.
Of course, the attempted SMEAR of Jim was right out of the script written by Mary Frances Berry, and one which the Democrats are have been using since they have NOTHING to run on as their own track records are worse than dismal.

“Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. @Kevin: Do you also have problems with the NAACP, The Congressional Black Caucus, 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement, the American Negro College Fund, or any other Black advocacy group?

Every American has the right to Educate their children on their own ethnicity and cultural Heritage and to protect them from any intrusion which they deem to be unacceptable.
