Harrison Mayor Joan Walsh announced today that rumors “making the rounds” about the town’s alleged shut down of recreation programs aren’t true.
In an emailed statement, the mayor said these rumors are being e-mailed to residents in order draw a crowd to tonight’s budget hearing, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
“Please know that the Board does not have any intention of “shutting down” the Recreation program,” the mayor’s statement says. “Don’t waste your time on this false issue. …This year’s Budget process is difficult enough without adding this stress.””
