LARCHMONT
Palmer Avenue: A refund check from a Palmer Avenue business was allegedly drawn against a closed account. A Scarsdale woman tried to cash the $100 check and was told on Feb. 1 that the account on which it was drawn had been closed.
Chatsworth Avenue: Someone deliberately damaged the boiler and air conditioning system of a retail building in the 140 block. The $5,000 in damage was reported Feb. 1.
Wendt Avenue: $1,850 in jewelry and crystal was stolen from a home during the early afternoon on Feb. 2.
Palmer Avenue: Twinkle Toes discovered $200 worth of children’s clothing missing Feb. 3 shortly after a woman exited the store, police said.
Palmer Avenue: A man tried to cash fraudulent checks in excess of $2,700 at the Chase bank on Feb. 3. Police are investigating the incident and are not releasing any further information.
NEW ROCHELLE
Clove Road: A 20-year-old city man who was walking home from night school at New Rochelle High School was attacked and robbed by two men, police said. The two suspects roughed up the victim before taking his cell phone and running away. The attack took place on the 200 block of Clove Road at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday. The victim was not injured.
Third Street: Two amplifiers and a speaker worth $1,300 were stolen from a 2001 Acura Integra that was parked on Third Street between 6 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, New Rochelle police said. The 32-year-old New Rochelle man who owns the car reported the theft to police.
PORT CHESTER
Village Green: Someone smashed in the front door of a home during the day Feb. 8 and made off with a 32-inch flat-screen TV valued at $1,300. Drawers in the house were rummaged through, but nothing else was stolen.
King Street: A 32-year-old Port Chester woman was accused Feb. 8 with having struck and bruised a 15-year-old girl with a telephone cord. Police said Maria Alvarez, of King Street, hit the child about 8:30 p.m. Feb. 5. The girl had visible bruises on her forearm when she reported the incident to a school counselor on the 8th, police said. Alvarez was charged with misdemeanor assault and the girl was given a protective order against Alvarez, police said. Child Protective Services is investigating the matter further.
RYE
Chester Drive: An unoccupied home was found burglarized Feb. 8. Police said someone smashed a basement window and went through rooms and closets. A list of stolen property has not yet been submitted.
