If you’re feeling the need to bleed for a good cause, Sound Shore Medical Center, at 16 Guion Place, in New Rochelle, is hosting the annual New Rochelle Rotary Blood Drive on Wednesday, May 11, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The drive is open to members of the public who meet blood-donor standards: you must be between the ages of 17 and 75 (16-year-olds need a note from a parent; anyone 76 or older needs a note from a doctor); be in good health; and weigh at least 110 pounds. To donate, you must also provide photo identification and the last four digits of your Social Security number (for tracking purposes).
For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 914.365.3664.
According to the hospital, one pint of blood can save two lives. All blood donations are for the exclusive use of Sound Shore Medical Center.
