The Rye Arts Center is hosting a juried, themed exhibition and art auction called “Vacation Locations.”
Artists are invited to submit 2-dimensional artwork, including painting, drawing, and photography, that captures scenes and landscapes from popular vacation spots, such as Sante Fe, Martha’s Vineyard or Aspen. Cash prizes will be awarded according to the best artwork in four categories: winter, spring, summer and fall.
Vacation Locations will open with Festival 51 on Sept. 11. The work in the exhibition will be on view and available for purchase through Oct. 15.
On the evening of Oct. 15, the Rye Arts Center will host a reception and community Chili Nights dinner, which will be followed by a live auction of 20 of the best paintings submitted.
Acceptance does not guarantee participation in the live auction. However, artists that are selected for the live auction may be selected to have a second work in the general exhibition.
Entry forms and more information are available at The Rye Arts Center and at www.ryeartscenter.org. Entries are due June 15, and artists will be notified at the end of June.
