Paul Bessolo and the Rock Island Sound Rejects will be performing as part of the Twilight Concert Series at Rye Town Park from 7:30 to 9 p.m. July 5.
The Concert will be held at the Park’s South Pavilion, near the Dearborn Avenue entrance to the park. Admission is free, and parking at Rye Town Park will be $2 after 5 p.m.
The band’s name comes from the Rock Island Sound Music School, located in the Milton Point section of Rye. Paul Bessolo is the owner and head music instructor for the school. He plays rock, blues, and classical guitar and piano, as well as being a composer and arranger.
The other bandmates are also instructors at the school, including Dave Valle on drums, John Mennona on bass and Isaac Assor on keyboard and vocals.
All concerts will be held rain or shine, except in case of thunderstorms. Picnicking is welcome. Some seating will be available, but people are encouraged to bring blankets or beach chairs.
This is the second of seven free concerts that will be held on Tuesdays in July and August. The concert series is sponsored in part by the Friends of Rye Town Park.
