New Rochelle feels Hollywood’s sting
Ah, Hollywood. You can be so cruel. New Rochelle city officials announced today, Wednesday, that Universal Pictures had decided to go with a location in New York City, rather than New Rochelle, for a scene in an upcoming action picture.
Universal had planned to shoot the scene, which would have involved a fake house, a fire and a bloodhound, at the Ward Acres Park. Filming would have taken place in November.
City Communications Director Kathy Gilwit said in an email that the logistics of shooting at Ward Acres “did not work out.”
The film is tentatively titled “Marcher” and is being directed by Tony Gilroy, who directed “Duplicity” and “Michael Clayton.” His writing credits include the “Jason Bourne” series.
