The annual “sleep-out” fund-raiser and rally for the homeless is back again this weekend as volunteers gather at the Blind Brook athletic fields and, if they choose, stay there overnight.
The keynote speaker at 8 p.m. Saturday will be Kate Snow, correspondent for NBC News, said Nikta Daijavad, a Blind Brook senior and executive chair of “Sleep For Solutions 2012.”
High school student Daniel Ullman started the event two years ago and got the entire community involved, including sponsors, political leaders and community groups. Proceeds benefit the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless.
Ullman, now a freshman at Yale, will be at the rally along with about 200 supporters, Daijavad said. Fifty to 60 people are expected to spend the night on the fields of King Street. Two Blind Brook juniors are serving as organizers, Brian Hershaft and Rachel Weltman.

Typical of Westchester Galahads to sponsor a homeless tribute on the polo fields. Bring your blankies!
