An 18-year-old New Rochelle High School student was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center after another student hit him in the head with a rock outside the building, city police said today.
The student was walking with a friend near North Avenue on school property at 2:45 p.m. Monday when they passed a group of four to six other students, New Rochelle Detective Capt. Joseph Schaller said. One person in the group threw a rock, hitting the victim in the head.
He went to the school nurse and was treated before being transported by ambulance to Sound Shore.
No one was arrested.
Schaller said police do not know the motive for the assault.
