NEW ROCHELLE
Police are investigating two unrelated house burglaries, detectives said today.
An Oxford Road home was discovered broken into between Friday morning and Monday morning, New Rochelle Detective Capt. Joseph Schaller said.
A basement door window was shattered and the door opened, Schaller said. The 40-year-old housekeeper discovered the break-in and found bedrooms ransacked. It was not yet determined what was stolen.
The second burglary was discovered Monday morning at a Webster Avenue home. The homeowner told police that between Sunday night and Monday morning someone entered the house and stole her 10-year-old son’s $500 Xbox and a $50 DVD player.
The 30-year-old woman told police that the house doors were locked before they went to sleep. She woke up and found a house door opened.
