NEW ROCHELLE
Police detectives are investigating two unconnected weekend burglaries, at an apartment and a restaurant.
Rings, watches, necklaces and other gold jewelry were stolen from a Washington Avenue apartment between July 9 and Sunday night, Detective Capt. Joseph Schaller said. A bedroom screen was found slashed.
At 3:52 a.m. Sunday, a passer-by spotted the front glass door to the Sun Hing Chinese restaurant broken.
The cash register in the 766 North Ave. restaurant was looted of $68, Schaller said.
The burglary happened between 12:45 a.m. at 3:52 a.m. Sunday.
