Here’s news submitted by Brigit, a boutique in Mamaroneck, which is hosting a trunk show by up-and-coming designer Rajni Menon of Scarsdale:
Former engineer Rajni Menon announces the launch of her new collection at the award-winning Brigit: Ethereal Objects to Wear, Treasure and Give in Mamaroneck Oct. 6 from 11am to 3pm. Stop by to view and purchase exquisitely crafted garments, and stay for the raffle. Anya Collections celebrates their newest collection with a special day of shopping for a cause; a percentage of net profits from purchases made during the event will be donated directly to the Children of The Ganges School. There will also be refreshments and a model/Henna artist – Simi available at Brigit from 12-2pm. Anya Collections will be supporting the Children of the Ganges School an organization, (that was started by a local mother and is championed by Brigit), dedicated to providing underserved at-risk, children with education, job training, food, and healthcare in Rishikesh, India. Rajni Menon feels that supporting the Children of the Ganges School is extremely important, she was born and raised in India, and has seen firsthand the severity of the situation in remote areas; Menon strongly believes that education is the most important gift a child can receive.
Brigit Boutique is pleased to announce this new partnership with Anya Collections; “Rajni’s creations are beautiful high-fashion pieces.” Brigit owner Breda Leahy gushed, “Just looking at makes me think of vintage Chanel, she uses such beautiful fabric too, I can’t wait to get mine!” Blouses and Tunics are made to order using your unique measurements and will be available to you within three to four weeks. Menon will have multiple sizes of each piece available Saturday for purchase and sizing. To celebrate quality fashion at sensible prices, Brigit will be having a final clearance on Summer dresses and tops.
Formerly an engineer, Menon chose to make a career in fashion; she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and loved every moment of it. The trunk show will display her 2012 collection of women’s attire inspired by the rich colors and embellishments seen in South India, including ‘Kasavu’- a gold brocade.
