Candidates for state senate and assembly districts and for one U.S. congressional district post will face off—or make statements if they’re running uncontested—in a forum Monday, Oct. 22, in New Rochelle City Hall, 515 North Ave.
The highest-level debate scheduled is for U.S. Rep. Elliot Engel, D-Bronx, and challengers Joseph McLaughlin®, Joseph Diaferia (GRE.)

New Rochelle League of Women Voters Sponsors Candidate Forum, Monday, Oct 22, 7 pm
The League of Women Voters of New Rochelle is sponsoring a Candidates’ Forum on Monday, October 22, at 7 pm in the City Council Chamber of City Hall, 515 North Avenue. (parking in rear of building).
The order of appearance, subject to change, is as follows:
Short statements from candidates running unopposed: Andrea Stewart-Cousins, state senate district 35 incumbent (D,WF) and Amy Paulin (D, WF), state assembly district 88 incumbent (D,WF
State Assembly District 91 candidates: Steven Otis (D,WF) and William J. Villanova (R,C).
Congressional District 16: Elliot Engel (D, incumbent), Joseph McLaughlin®, Joseph Diaferia (GRE)
State Senate District 37: George Latimer (D,WF) and Bob Cohen (R,C)
Members of the audience are invited to submit questions in writing at the start of the forum.
The meeting will be recorded and replayed on Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon Channel 28 on the days before the election.
