Westchester’s singing phenom, 13-year-old Carly Rose Sonenclar from Mamaroneck, made it straightaway to the top 4 and the semifinals of Fox TV’s “X Factor” singing competition tonight.
Next Wednesday, she’ll face country singer Tate Stevens, boy-band Emblem 3, and girl group Fifth Harmony for a spot in the two-act finale on Dec. 19. The winner will be named Dec. 20.
Carly, a Rye Neck High School eighth-grader, placed first the past two weeks, after placing second (to Stevens) during the first two weeks of ranked performances. Tonight, Tate Stevens placed first. Heading home were CeCe Frey and Diamond White.
The leaderboard rankings, after this week’s phone/text/online vote:
1. Tate Stevens
2. Carly Rose Sonenclar
3. Emblem 3
4. Fifth Harmony
Carly will be chatting with LoHud.com tomorrow, so check back here for her reaction to tonight’s news.
And tune in to Fox Wednesday at 8 p.m. for the semifinals, with the results show on Thursday at 8.
