There’s a group making waves about creating a new community radio station in the Rye-Port Chester area. Here’s an announcement for two meetings, tonight and tomorrow, in Rye Town Hall to talk it over.
Let’s turn the mic over to Greg Arcaro:
TO: COMMUNITY LEADERS IN THE TOWN OF RYE AREA An exciting, new opportunity has just become available to have a “community radio station” in the Port Chester/Rye Brook/Rye Neck/Rye City area!
If you are interested in this possibility, two meetings have been scheduled to discuss whether it is feasible to have a community radio station in our area and whether we can complete the required application by October 1, 2013.
Both meetings will be held at Rye Town Hall, 10 Pearl Street, Port Chester:
Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30pm;
Thursday, February 14, at 9am;
Joining us at these meetings will be Rod Calarco – the former general manager of WCBS and WFAS radio stations. Rod, who grew up in Port Chester and attended Port Chester High School, has offered to help us discuss this opportunity.
You are encouraged to attend either meeting and to invite others in the community who might be interested.
Thank you.
