The study of expected impacts from the Echo Bay development has been posted on the New Rochelle city website.
The document, called a Draft Environmental Impact Statement, looks at the area of more than 10 acres of East Main Street, much of it occupied by the city’s public works yard, which would be moved to an inland site.
Forest City Residential plans to develop about eight acres of the site with 285 rental apartments, 25,000 square feet of space for stores, about 5 acres of waterfront parkland, and a walk along the water.
A public hearing on the impact statement’s findings will be held Mar. 12 in City Hall. Comments made then will be incorporated in a final version of the study.
