It took a while, but Mamaroneck’s singing sensation Carly Rose Sonenclar, the runner-up for “The X Factor,” has a contract with Simon Cowell’s SYCO company.
It took a while. “The X Factor” finale was Dec. 20 and, while other contestants Tate Stevens, Emblem3 and Fifth Harmony had been signed, Carly hadn’t.
Until now.
I caught up with Carly backstage after a Midtown corporate event today and, before she headed back to class at Rye Neck Middle School, she sat for a quick chat.
The bad news was having to wait. The good news is that she’ll be in the recording studio before too long. Asked whether she preferred to fill her first album with original songs or “covers” (songs previously recorded by other artists), Carly said she could see doing one or two covers, but hoped that she could record original works.
Can’t wait.
