New Rochelle will host two meetings to talk about traffic and walkway improvements Thursday evening, but you’ll have to travel if you want to attend both.
A 6 p.m. meeting will look at ideas for replacing sidewalks and other walkways near the Sound Shore Medical Center and the intermodal transportation center, which includes the Metro-North Railroad train station and a bus depot. It will be held in the Goldstein Auditorium of the medical center on Glover Johnson Place.

The project being discussed will replace existing walks with sidewalks, ramps and other amenities that meet federal rules for handicap accessibility, as well as ornamental street lighting to encourage walking.
A 7 p.m. meeting at City Hall, 515 North Ave., will look at new traffic signals that would include enhancements such as vehicle sensors that make traffic flow more smoothly. The signals would be on Main Street, Huguenot Street and Pelham Road.
