Long live Westchester journalism! A West Harrison resident and senior at The Masters School, Tyler Pager, was named the New York State Journalist of the Year by the Journalism Education Association.

The aptly-named Pager is one of three top editors at the Tower, the Dobbs Ferry school’s newspaper. He attended a summer program at the Medill-Northwestern Journalism Institute, in Chicago, and has seen his work published in the Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition, the Daily Northwestern and the Harrison Report.
“As a relentless seeker of facts, Tyler served as a role model in our community of student journalists last summer,” Nick Castele, a Medill instructor, said. “I am confident that he will continue to do so in college and beyond.”
Pager will represent New York at the National High School Journalism Convention in San Franciso in April.
