Mamaroneck Library and the American Muslim Women’s Association (AMWA) will host Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, author of ‘Moving the Mountain: a New Vision of Islam in America,” on Sunday, June 2, at 2 p.m.
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is the founder and Chairman of The Cordoba Initiative, a multi-national, multi-faith organization dedicated to improving Muslim-West relations.
Imam Feisal is the go-to talking head for an Islamic perspective on current events or about Islam in general. He is a man of faith and a proud American. Imam Feisal has received numerous awards including the Search for Common Ground for Interfaith Diplomacy in 2012 and Arianna Huffington’s “2010 Game Changer” Award. Time magazine named him among the 100 most influential people of the world in April 2011 and he was listed as one of the Top 100 Global Thinkers of 2010 by Foreign Policy magazine.
In Moving the Mountain, Imam Feisal invites readers to a deeper understanding of the role of moderate Muslims in America and in the world. Imam Feisal’s talk will be followed by a book signing.
