Westchester Residential Opportunities, a nonprofit based in White Plains that promotes affordable, accessible and nondiscriminatory housing, is recruiting volunteers for a community service day on June 6. The volunteers will fan out across Westchester County to identify handicapped accessible housing. The housing will be put into a database to provide information for people with limited mobility who are seeking housing.
“Undertaking this initiative is an important fair housing activity and will benefit seniors and individuals with mobility impairments throughout Westchester County,” said WRO Executive Director Geoffrey Anderson.
For more information or to volunteer, contact Ariana Calderon at 914-428-4507 ext. 336 or at email@example.com.
WRO is working on the initiative with Westchester Disabled on the Move and the Westchester Human Rights Commission.
