Barbara Ellsworth-Robinson best known for her glamorous style and quirky personality in and about Larchmont, will show off her house hunting temperament Wednesday night when she is featured on the popular television show, “Million Dollar Listing New York”.
Ellsworth-Robinson owns Larchmont Laser Medical Spa on Palmer Avenue and has lived in Larchmont for nine years. With the help of Bravo television star and real estate agent Ryan Serhant of Nest Seekers International, she found and purchased a plush Upper East Side townhouse with her husband Lloyd Robinson, an oil industry executive.
“Shopping for a house is like working with an interior decorator. There has to blend. I have to shop with someone who has my taste – and we hit it off right off the bat,” Ellsworth-Robinson says of Serhant.
In the show’s video teaser he describes her as flirtatious to say the least.
Sexual tension is good because “when sexually excited they will probably pull the trigger,” he says inferring that the person would quickly select which home to buy.
The couple has two sons, 8 and 6, and expect to downsize their home in Westchester to something smaller than their current 5 bedroom home near the Long Island Sound.
“We upsized to New York City and will downsize in Westchchester,” she said.
The couple, she explains, spends a lot of time in the city because of cultural and philanthropic events.
Ellsworth-Robinson supports nonprofit organizations including Share Our Strength, Habitat for Humanity and the Human Rights Coalition.
She is from Idaho where the couple owns a home and she flew from Boise to New York City to meet with Serhant to hunt for New York City home in the price range of $3 to $4 million.
When asked how much she paid for the home, she hesitated and coyly said, “you’ll have to watch the show. It was a negotiation.”
But clearly from the show’s teaser she had to up her original budget to find a suitable home with at least three bedrooms that did not need a lot of renovations to be a comfortable family home.
The Larchmont spa offers facials, laser hair removal, Vela Shape cellulite reduction and skin tightening and eyelash and eyebrow tinting.
She got the idea for the business after working as a plastic surgery nurse in Manhattan, she explains.
Earlier in the year she was rumored to have been angling for a spot on the Real Housewives of New York since she was featured in a party episode and is friends with the stars.
But Ellsworth-Robinson says was a guest at a party that was filmed for the Housewives show and that sadly, her portion didn’t make the final cut.
Million Dollar Listing New York airs Wednesday and is rebroadcast Saturday.
