Pelham Road—Two tires worth $1,008 were stolen off of a 2012 Mercedes Benz that was parked on Pelham road between 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 5., New Rochelle police said.

Palmer Road—Four tires worth $2,000 were stolen off of a 2012 Hundai that was parked at 2333 Palmer Ave. between 1 p.m. Feb. 5 and 6 a.m. Feb. 6., New Rochelle police said.

Radisson Plaza—A GPS and iPod worth $320 were stolen from a 2010 Honda parked on Radisson Plaza between 6 a.m. and noon Feb. 5. The passenger side window of the car was smashed to gain entry, New Rochelle police said.

Horton Avenue—An iPod was stolen from a 1999 Isuzu that was parked on Horton Avenue between 1 p.m. Feb. 4 and 11:20 p.m. Feb. 5.

New Rochelle police investigate stolen tires01.31.12

Circuit Road—Two tires were stolen off of a 2011 Honda Accord that was parked
on Circuit Road sometime between Jan. 27 and Jan. 28, New Rochelle police said.
The tires were worth $300. Police said the same thieves may have stolen two
tires from a 2011 Honda Accord that was parked on Elm Street between 3:15 and
4:30 a.m. Jan. 28.

New Rochelle
Pelham Road: A 56-year-old New Rochelle man found his 2011 Chevrolet Camaro on cinder blocks and all four tires and rims stolen, city police said. The car was parked in an underground garage of an apartment building on the 700 block of Pelham Road between the evening of Jan. 3 and the morning of Jan. 4. The tires and rims were valued at $5,000.
Disbrow Circle: A 73-year-old Florida woman told police that she left her car parked on Disbrow Circle between 1:35 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Jan. 4 and someone stole prescription sunglasses valued at $250 from her 2009 Nissan Altima. The car was unlocked, police said.
Disbrow Circle: A 32-year-old New Rochelle woman told police that someone entered her 2011 GMC between 11:40 p.m. on Jan. 3 and 8 a.m. Jan. 4 and stole four ties and a box of chocolate.
Webster Avenue: Four 10-foot-long cast iron pipes worth $400 were stolen from a house on the 200 block of Webster Avenue, police said. The pipes were left on the side of the house between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Jan. 3. The 61-year-old man who owns the house reported the theft to police.
Wilmot Road:  A 60-year-old Monsey man told police that he parked his 2006 Ford Taurus outside a Wilmot Road store to talk to a friend. He left the car running at about 7:35 p.m. Jan. 4. while he talked to his friend inside the store. When the man returned at 8 p.m. to the spot where he had parked, the car had been stolen.

New Rochelle police probe Lieb’s Greenhouse burglary10.27.11

NEW ROCHELLE—New Rochelle detectives are investigating a burglary at Lieb’s Greenhouse at 1 Askins Place in which a $4,000 desktop computer was stolen along with $150 in cash from a cash register, police said.

The burglary happened between 4 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday, police said. The 51-year-old owner of the store found a side door pried open and then discovered the money and property stolen from inside.

NEW ROCHELLE -New Rochelle Fire Chief Louis DeMeglio was formally named to the position at a ceremony held at City Hall Thursday morning.

Other city firefighters were promoted to higher rank and some received awards during the ceremony in the City Council Chambers.

New Rochelle: Woman thwarts burglary10.20.11

NEW ROCHELLE

A woman confronted a burglar and he fled in one of two house burglaries that occurred Wednesday, police said

At about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, a Kensington Oval home was broken into by a man who smashed the window on a door and opened the lock. He was described only as a young man wearing a black hoodie. The homeowner, a woman, was in the house and confronted the burglar, who turned, ran away and escaped, Detective Capt. Joseph Schaller said.

In the second incident a Rhodes Street house was discovered broken into at 2:53 p.m. Police did not have details.

“There is apparently no relationship between these two burglaries,” Schaller said today.

Sidney Street: A 22-year-old city man was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of marijuana on Sidney Street, New Rochelle police said. David Belinquete of 289 Webster Ave. was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Belinquete was stopped by New Rochelle Police Officer Michael Vaccaro on Sidney and Treno streets after he ran through a stop sign without stopping and turned without flashing a signal light at 10:25 p.m. Oct. 5. Sgt. Myron Joseph said. As Officer Vaccaro walked up to the car, Belinquete tossed a marijuana cigarette out the window of his 2000 Toyota Camry, Sgt. Joseph said. Belinquete appeared to be intoxicated and he failed a field sobriety test. He was arrested and he later submitted to a chemical test.

Main Street: Selvin Ochoa, 31, of 618 Main St., was arrested after he came home intoxicated, threatened a woman and grabbed her face, New Rochelle police said.  Police were called to Ochoa’s Main Street apartment Oct. 5. Ochoa was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation.

New Rochelle blotter: Man attacked; apartment entered; Honda stolen10.04.11

NEW ROCHELLE
DeWitt Place: A 28-year-old Mount Vernon man suffered three cuts to the right side of the head when he was attacked by another man. The attack happened at 11:57 p.m. Oct. 1 on DeWitt Place. Police said they were sent to DeWitt on a report of a man walking around with no shirt or shoes and found the victim. He was treated at Sound Shore Medical Center and released. Police said he declined to cooperate with their investigation.

Franklin Avenue: Assorted jewelry was stolen when an apartment on the 100 block of Franklin Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Sept. 30.

John Street: A $36,000 Honda Odyssey that was parked outside a John Street house was stolen. The theft happened between 8 p.m. Sept. 30 and 10:55 a.m. Oct. 1. The 47-year-old man who owns the car reported it stolen.

Pelham man, 21, attacked in New Rochelle09.22.11

NEW ROCHELLE — A 21-year-old Pelham man was found unconscious and bleeding from the head and mouth on Main Street and Locust Avenue, New Rochelle police said.

The man was attacked at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday by two men. Police do not know what caused the assault. The man was being treated at Sound Shore Medical Center.

New Rochelle police blotter: Biting incident, padlock attack, more09.21.11

Fountain Place: Dorilnn DeJesus, 23, of 39 Fountain Place was arrested after police said she bit and scratched three family members at 12:43 p.m. Sept. 19 at their Fountain Place apartment. She was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

Centre Avenue: An 11-year-old girl was hit in the face with a padlock several times by two boys around the same age as the victim, police said. The girl and the boys had argued before the assault, which took place at 2:44 p.m. Sept. 19 on Centre Avenue. The girl’s father was to take her to their personal doctor for a medical examination. The two boys were not yet apprehended by New Rochelle police.

Charles Street: Two brothers, one 19 and the other 25, discovered their Charles Street home burglarized on Sept. 19. The brothers found their $300 PlayStation missing. They checked the rest of the apartment and found about $7,000 worth of jewelry stolen. Entry into the home was made through an unlocked window at the fire escape. The burglary happened between noon and 4 p.m. Sept. 19.

Lockwood Avenue: A $500 amplifier and $100 stereo were stolen from a 41-year-old New Rochelle man’s 2000 Ford parked on the 300 block of Lockwood Avenue. The theft happened between 10:20 p.m. Sept. 18 and 10:19 p.m. Sept 19.
