Leah Rae covers the Port Chester-Rye Brook beat for The Journal News. She’s written about Westchester's immigrant population since joining the paper in 1994, and reported from two immigrant “hometowns” in Ecuador and Guatemala. Leah studied at the University of Toronto and worked at her hometown paper, The Buffalo News, before migrating downstate. Ned P. Rauch covers New Rochelle, Pelham and Pelham Manor. He used to live in the Adirondacks, where he was an editor at Adirondack Life and, before that, a staff writer at the Press-Republican. Now he lives in New York City, where he plays guitar in a bluegrass band.

Andrew Klappholz covers the Harrison-Rye beat for The Journal News. He originally joined the Gannett company in 1998 as a reporter with The Asbury park Press in New Jersey. Since then, he's held a variety of writing and editing positions, including a stint as editor of The Item weekly paper. An avid sports (In this order: Mets, NY Giants and Indiana Hoosier basketball) and music (Springsteen) fan, Andrew also works as a communications consultant for TheLadders.com.

Colin grew up in Washington, D.C., went to college in St. Paul, Minn., and now lives in Queens. Before joining The Journal News, he worked as an education reporter for Greenwich Time, a daily newspaper in Connecticut. Before that, he was a contributor to the business desk at the New York Sun and an assistant managing editor at the weekly Queens Chronicle.

I cover police and fire departments for nine Sound Shore communities from Rye Brook south through both Pelhams. I used to, but no longer cover New Rochelle. I have been with TJN as a part time reporter since 2000. I live in a Sound Shore community and try to report as a reader/resident.

Carucha Meuse

Carucha L. Meuse is a visual journalist. She has worked as a photographer and picture editor throughout the country. The award-winner began her career as a photo intern at Reuters. Her explorations into the human experience have taken her to places like Uganda, Cuba, Egypt, Argentina and guerdon her with numerous awards. Most recently she participated in an exhibit at Lincoln Center- UnderExposed: Black Female Photographers in America. She lives in New York where she works for Lohud.com and is working on new projects.
